The PADI Discover Scuba Diving program is one of the most enjoyable ways of discovering if Scuba diving is for you. During your PADI Discover Scuba Diving experience you will have the opportunity to explore amazing shallow reefs dive sites under the direct supervision of your PADI Divemaster or instructor. During your adventure, you will become an aquanaut experiencing weightlessness as if you where in outer space. You will also have the opportunity get up close and personal with the local marine life. After your adventure you may never be the same on dry land again. So spend a day with us and let's go exploring.

Where will we be diving?

Our Beach Dive locations are Deerfield Beach, Pompano Beach and Lauderdale by the sea. We will select the most appropriate dive site for the day’s conditions and participants.

Our Beach dive locations are excellent for shell hunting, photography and exploring. For our Boat Dive locations, we will leave from the Hillsboro Inlet and head out to a shallow reef system we call the pompano ledges. This site is both great for divers and snorkelers and is home to the historical and archaeological shipwreck of the USS Copenhagen

Weather permitting.

Discover Scuba Diving program outline

We begin the PADI Discover Scuba Diving Experience in the classroom or on-site with a safety orientation on the direct effects of pressure while scuba diving. After the safety briefing, we will begin to teach you about the scuba diving equipment you will be using during your underwater adventure. Then it's into the Pool/Confined water for some scuba diving skills training.

There are six basic skills you will need to learn in order to begin your underwater scuba diving adventure:

1. You will learn how to breathe from a scuba regulator while underwater.

2. You will learn how to clear a scuba regulator of water while underwater.

3. You will learn how to recover a scuba regulator of water while underwater.

4. You will learn how to clear a mask of water while underwater.

5. You will learn equalization techniques for your ears and your mask.

6. You will learn how to inflate and deflate your BCD (Buoyancy Compensation Device) at the surface and how to drop your weights.

Upon successful completion of the skills it's time to go out for your two open water shallow reef dives.
