PADI Enriched Air (Nitrox) Course.

Course Introduction

Scuba Diving with Enriched Air (Nitrox)
The PADI Enriched Air Diver course is PADI’s most popular specialty scuba diving course, and it’s easy to see why. Scuba diving with enriched air nitrox gives you more no decompression dive time. This means more time underwater, especially on repetitive scuba dives.

The Fun Part Divers breathing underwater with Enriched Air (Nitrox)
You can typically stay down longer and get back in the water sooner. No wonder many divers choose this as their very first specialty course.

This course is designed to qualify recreational divers to use enriched air (“nitrox”) for non
stop recreational diving. The program addresses the use of enriched air with 22 percent to 40 percent oxygen, with emphasis on enriched air with 32 and 36 percent oxygen.

Common misconceptions about Enriched Air (Nitrox)

Nitrox is only for Deep Diving.
Actually Nitrox is a shallow gas not a deep gas. The primary purpose for breathing enriched air Nitrox is to increase your bottom time at shallower depths. Nitrox 32% have a maximum operating depth of 110 feet and Nitrox 36% has a maximum operating depth of 90 feet.

I Need Special Equipment to Dive Nitrox

No. Most scuba equipment made over the last 5 to 7 years is Nitrox compatible up to 40%. With the older equipment usually is as simple as changing a few offerings to make it Nitrox compatible.
